Bio
Joe Selby
musician, engineer, producer, facilities management dork
Joe Selby (aka Josephus) was born and raised in Alameda, CA, in the heart of the East Bay. He's been playing guitar and/or bass in bands since high school, futzing around with audio engineering since college. His current primary projects revolve around The Bonstones and his solo work as Josephus.
Joe was once called a "rock and roll mercenary" by Adam Becvare of the Black Halos and Lust Killers, having led The Stand, filled in with Mice at Play, done time in Still, labored in Helen Twelvetrees, toured and recorded with The Wynona Riders, driven the van for Three Years Down, tagged along again with The Lust Killers and hopped a ride for sh!ts and giggles in Fracas.
Along the way Joe has peered over the shoulder of every recording engineer or producer who didn't shoo him away like a gnat, recording dozens of budget-friendly demos for his punk rock pals over the years on everything from a Tascam Porta-One to an SSL console.
Present-day projects include The Bonstones, a second Josephus solo LP (due out as soon as the health crises will give us a break) and holding down the low end for both Lucious Bloodfire and the 4-Inch Studs.
